What Kind of Morality is Desirable?
In this project we will be searching for morality that is humanitarian, that is, ultimately based on a love for all mankind.
Although there will be continual disagreement, and indeed evolution, of what values and objectives lie within the moral sphere,
we will expect the morals to guide us towards such things as:
- Personal happiness or well-being
- Better personal relationships with other people
- A more peaceful and happy society
It is very clear that each and all of us have much to gain from such wisdom, and its accumulation by our species has been a major factor in its survival.
